Event Navigation

Save water, save money, and save our local waterways all at the same time!

Build your own rain barrel and learn how to install it on your property at this FREE hands-on workshop.

Rain barrels help reduce stormwater runoff that can carry pollutants to our creeks and the Chesapeake Bay. Water your garden and lawn, or wash your car with the water that you conserve!

How much does a Rain Barrel cost?

Anyone can attend this educational workshop to learn about the benefits of a rain barrel. There is, however, a cost for the rain barrels (assembly kits included):

  • Residents of Bird River, Middle River, or Tidal Gunpowder watersheds$30
    • Save 50% with our Clear Creeks Project cost/share program
    • Perry Hall, Nottingham, Bird River, White Marsh, Middle River, Wilson Point and Bowley’s Quarters are communities within these watershed boundaries
  • Gunpowder Valley Conservancy members:$50
  • Non-members: $60

REGISTER TODAY! Space is limited to 20 builders or participants. **Location to be determined somewhere in Baltimore County**

Barrels donated by McCormick and Company, Inc.

The Clear Creeks (CCKs) project, coordinated by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, is a grant-funded, citizen-based initiative that helps answer a community desire to restore the water quality of the Middle River, Tidal Gunpowder, and Bird River watersheds. Additional funding provided by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation; Chesapeake Bay Trust; Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability; Baltimore Gas and Electric; and Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund, administered by Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
