Help build a NEW trail to re-route a previous hazardous section in Gunpowder Falls State Park.
Do you enjoy being outside in nature and don’t mind working hard? Then join us for this hands-on learning experience on the proper techniques of trail maintenance. Volunteers will learn about rock armoring, or rolling grade dips, to prevent sediment erosion and improve water quality.

Who: No experience is necessary! Community service hours are welcome. Participants must be ages 12 and up. Great opportunity for middle, high, and college level students, REI employees, scouts, community residents and trail users.
When: Please arrive by 9:15 am to sign in/register. We will start the workshop at 9:30 am sharp.
Where: Gunpowder Falls State Park – Fallston area. From I 95 take Fallston exit North onto Rt. 152. Go about 10 miles and turn left onto Old Fallston Rd. Just after St. Mark Roman Catholic Church on left , turn left onto Laurel Brook Rd. Go to the end of road at T and turn right onto dirt road. Park on right. Carpool (Parking is very limited).
What to bring: Remember to wear sturdy shoes, bring a hat, gloves, and clothes that can get dirty. Bring your own lunch and water. We will break for lunch around noon.
