Volunteering with the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy is a great way to improve your local community and the environment. Whether planting trees, installing rain barrels, developing conservation gardens or helping with paperwork, there are plenty of ways you can contribute. We work with individual volunteers as a well as groups from schools, clubs, communities, churches, and corporations. Connect with your friends, family or co-workers and enjoy a wonderful day of outdoors service.

Volunteer Activities

Over 20,000 volunteers have contributed time and talent to the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy. We rely on our volunteers to:

  • Plant trees
  • Maintain trees (check shelters and remove invasive plants)
  • Clean up trash from streams
  • Create conservation/rain gardens
  • Install rain barrels
  • Maintain trails
  • Stencil storm drains
  • Organize community cleanup projects
  • Assist with annual fundraising event
