Tree Planting

Plant trees for cleaner air and water in Baltimore County!
More than 32,000 trees have been planted throughout the Gunpowder Watershed by enthusiastic volunteers over the past 33 years, and we need YOUR help to plant even more! Do you like being outside in nature and don’t mind working hard? Join us, and make a difference for future generations by planting trees at St. Demetrios Church!
A maximum of 20 people, including GVC staff and volunteer leaders, will be allowed to participate in this event. We are allowing minors (ages 8 – 17) to attend our events as long as there is one parent/legal guardian per four children in attendance. Adults must sign COVID-19 waiver form. Note: Participants are not required to wear face masks during this event at this time.
EVENT DETAILS
Date: Saturday, October 15, 2022 (10 am – 1 pm). Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in. This event is rain or shine.
Location: St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (2504 Cub Hill Rd, Parkville, MD 21234) Starting off on I-83 S. Take I-695 E to Cromwell Bridge Rd in Towson. Take exit 29A from I-695 E. Turn left onto Cromwell Bridge Rd, follow Cromwell Bridge Rd for about 2.5 miles and then turn right onto Cub Hill Rd. The destination will be on your left in about 0.5 miles. Follow GVC event signs and look for registration table.
What to bring: Remember to wear boots, pants, long sleeve shirt, hat, gloves, and bring rain gear. Each volunteer will need to bring their own labeled water bottle. Water jugs for refill and packaged snack bars will be provided.
