Clear Creeks Project Open House

Clean water begins in YOUR backyard!

You’re invited to drop by Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC)’s Clear Creeks Project Open House for hands-on activities, info sessions, garden tours, light snacks and camaraderie. This year, GVC has been working with Divinity Lutheran Church (1220 Providence Road, Towson, MD 21286) to install multiple Bay-Wise practices that reduce stormwater runoff to our local waterways. The Open House is a great time to stop by and see their accomplishments and learn how you can implement similar practices at your home, business, or place of worship.

(We’ll even have the Ravens game on if you want to keep score in between activities!)

The Open House will feature drop-in activities where you can:

• Get professional advice on how to maintain your native gardens and trees in the fall, including pruning techniques and assessing tree damage
• Volunteer to help mulch trees and remove non-native plants to prepare for native plantings next year
• Connect with Baltimore-area Green Teams and environmental organizations, including Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake and Master Gardeners
• Learn how you can promote clean water AND save money by installing a Clear Creeks Project rain barrel and/or rain garden
