Bayscape Garden Workshop
05/06/2017 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
| FreeEvent Navigation

Create a beautiful garden, preserve local waterways and protect the Bay.
UPDATE: This event has been canceled. We will not be able to prep our garden beds with the expected heavy rain. We will update our calendar of events ASAP with the new date. Thanks for your understanding (5/4/17)
Bayscape gardens replace lawn with beautiful native plants that support wildlife, reduce maintenance, and filter rain water from hard surfaces before it runs into local waterways. We need YOUR help to create a Children’s Bayscape garden at the Maryland State Game & Fish Protective Association in Perry Hall.
No gardening experience necessary! Perfect for Scout troops and their families. Community service hours available. Learn how to incorporate native plants in your own backyard!
What to expect: Dress for yard work (hat, long pants, sneakers/boots, sunscreen) and bring your own water bottle. Garden gloves and tools will be provided. Lunch provided after garden installation
Location: MD State Game & Fish Protective Association, 8735 Honeygo Blvd, Perry Hall, MD 21128
This workshop is part of the Clear Creeks (CCKs) project. Coordinated by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, the Clear Creeks Project is a grant-funded, citizen-based initiative that helps answer a community desire to restore the water quality of the Middle River, Tidal Gunpowder, and Bird River watersheds. Additional funding provided by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation; Chesapeake Bay Trust; Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability; Baltimore Gas and Electric; and Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund, administered by Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
