The perfect class for Do-It-Yourself gardeners interested in native plants
If you are interested in designing and constructing a Rain Garden, Bayscape or Edible Bayscape, this hands-on learning experience is for you. You will learn the principles of design and how to apply them to solving your storm water problems. Each participant will create a Rain Garden, Bayscape or Edible Bayscape garden design for their own home. You will be provided with the information, reference materials, and techniques to prepare your own site design.
Topics include: analyzing your storm water and soil issues, determining location and size, preparing the site, selecting and installing plants, and maintenance requirements. We will tour a demonstration garden on site.
In preparation for this workshop, please collect measurements and photos of your site and storm water situation. Additional instructions will be provided when you RSVP. Please bring a bag lunch.
If you find this experience valuable, please consider making a donation to Gunpowder Valley Conservancy at the workshop (suggested donation $20) to support additional educational workshops in the future. Our staff will be available to collect donations.
