Edible Bayscape Workshop
August 10, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Create a beautiful yard, preserve local waterways, and protect the Chesapeake Bay.
Join us for a FREE “Introduction to Edible Bayscapes” workshop by Patricia Ceglia, Landscape Designer for the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC)’s Clear Creeks Project.
Learn about design and installation of an edible bayscape, benefits and maintenance best practices. This workshop will be held at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church where a new Children’s Garden, installed this spring as part of the church’s Bay-Wise Project, is in full bloom with native perennials, edible herbs and even fig trees!
Topics will include garden site selection, the role of native plants, maintaining soil health, watering, weeding and pest control.
No gardening experience required! Since the garden has already been planted, you won’t even have to get your hands dirty. Come see how easy it can be to create similar Bayscape gardens at your home, business, and/or place of worship.
