Rain Barrel Decoration workshop

July 21 @ 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Event Navigation

Save water, save money, and save our local waterways all at the same time!

Build your own rain barrel and learn how to install it on your property at this FREE hands-on workshop at Maryland Presbyterian Church (1105 Providence Road, Towson, MD 21286).  You’ll also have the option to personalize it with paint and stencils! Experienced Rain Barrel decorator, Connie Pierson, will be our guest instructor from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.

Rain barrels help reduce stormwater runoff that can carry pollutants to our creeks and the Chesapeake Bay. Water your garden and lawn, or wash your car with the water that you conserve!

How much does a Rain Barrel cost?

Anyone can attend this educational workshop to learn about the benefits of a rain barrel. There is, however, a cost for the rain barrels (assembly kits included):

  • Residents of Bird River, Lower Gunpowder Falls, Middle River, and Tidal Gunpowder watersheds$30
    • Save 50% with our Clear Creeks Project cost/share program
    • View our interactive map to see if your property is within our Clear Creeks Project watersheds
  • Gunpowder Valley Conservancy members: $50
  • Non-members: $60

Space is limited to 20 builders or participants. Registration deadline is July 12th. You can purchase a blue rain barrel, or a neutral (tan/light green) barrel to decorate during the event.
