Trail Maintenance & Invasive Plant Removal workshop
06/24/2018 @ 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Spend a day improving local hiking trails. Learn how you can reduce the impact of invasive plants on wildlife.
Do you enjoy being outside in nature and don’t mind working hard? Then join us for this hands-on learning experience on the proper techniques of trail maintenance and invasive plant removal. Volunteers will be split into two groups:
- Trail Maintenance: Learn the proper techniques, such as rock armoring and rolling grade dips, to prevent sediment erosion and improve water quality.
- Invasive Plant Removal: Learn about common invasive plants that interfere with the health of our forests, methods for removal, and then plant native plants that benefit local wildlife.
