Newly planted trees need TLC to survive. Spend a couple hours to help make our Reforestation projects a success!
Tree maintenance involves removing invasive plants, checking planted trees to see if the shelter needs to be removed and removing if necessary, digging out the planting tube, and making sure the plant is upright.
Community service learning hours available.
When: Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 1 – 4 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and receive tools.
What to bring: Wear long pants, long sleeved shirt and closed-toed shoes (boots are best). Dressing in layers is best as you will warm up as you work and may want to shed a layer not just a heavy coat. Bring warm gloves if you have them. Bring a filled water bottle.
Directions: Loch Raven Reservoir. From Towson, head north on Dulaney Valley Road. After crossing Loch Raven Reservoir, bear right to stay on Dulaney Valley Road. Continue until you reach the old Peerce’s Restaurant (on left) and head straight onto Loch Raven Drive. You will cross a small bridge. Park on the left side across from the planted tree field. You will see the leader’s black Prius parked there. Do NOT park in front of the fire road gate.
