SUMMARY:Tree Maintenance
DESCRIPTION:Note: Participants are expected to wear face masks during this event. The event will be held outdoors and adhere to our COVID-19 social distancing policy. \nNewly planted trees need TLC to survive. Spend several hours to help young trees grow into healthy forests! \nTree maintenance involves removing invasive plants\, checking planted trees to see if the shelter needs to be removed and removing if necessary\, digging out the planting tube\, and making sure the plant is upright. \nA maximum of 10 people\, including GVC staff\, will be allowed to participate in this event. We are allowing minors (ages 13- 17) to attend our events as long as there is one parent/legal guardian per two children in attendance. \nClick here to sign up for the event \nEVENT INFO \nWhen: Wednesday\, May 12\, 2021 (10 am – 1 pm) . Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and receive tools. \nWhat to bring: Wear long pants\, a long sleeve shirt\, and closed-toed shoes (boots are best!) Bring a hat\, work gloves (if you have them)\, and a filled water bottle. \nDirections: “White Gazebo” off of Dulaney Valley Road.  From 695-West\, take exit 27B toward Dulaney Valley Rd/MD-146N. Slight left onto Hampton Lane. At traffic light\, make right at onto MD-146N/Dulaney Valley Road. Continue on Dulaney Valley Road for approximately 5 miles\, crossing over Loch Raven Reservoir and passing.Eagle’s Nest Country Club. Turn left to stay on Dulaney Valley at the intersection with Peerce’s Restaurant. Make first left into BGE parking lot with a white gazebo; if you get to Windemere Parkway you’ve gone too far.
