DESCRIPTION: GVC has decided to cancel all our of volunteer events based on the increasing positivity rate in Maryland\, as well as advice from Gov. Hogan to cancel gatherings throughout the Thanksgiving holiday season. The health of our staff and volunteers is our primary concern right now. We will update our online calendar of events should the situation change in mid-December (11/25/20). \nNewly planted trees need TLC to survive. Spend several hours to help young trees grow into healthy forests! \nTree maintenance involves removing invasive plants\, checking planted trees to see if the shelter needs to be removed and removing if necessary\, digging out the planting tube\, and making sure the plant is upright. \nA maximum of 10 people\, including GVC staff\, will be allowed to participate in this event. We are allowing minors (ages 10 – 17) to attend our events as long as there is one parent/legal guardian per two children in attendance. \nEVENT INFO \nWhen: Monday\, November 30\, 2020 (10 am – 1 pm) . Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and receive tools. \nWhat to bring: Wear long pants\, a long sleeve shirt\, and closed-toed shoes (boots are best!) Bring a hat\, work gloves (if you have them)\, and a filled water bottle. \nDirections: Hydes Road Park\, 5607 Hydes Road\, Hydes\, MD\, 21082. Please park in the most western part of the parking lot. Look for GVC event signs and a white Toyota Camry. \nQuestions?
