Newly planted trees need TLC to survive. Spend several hours to help young trees grow into healthy forests!
Tree maintenance involves removing invasive plants, checking planted trees to see if the shelter needs to be removed and removing if necessary, digging out the planting tube, and making sure the plant is upright.
A maximum of 10 people, including GVC staff, will be allowed to participate in this event. We are allowing minors (ages 13- 17) to attend our events as long as there is one parent/legal guardian per two children in attendance.
When: Sunday, October 24, 2021 (10 am – 1 pm) . Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can sign in and receive tools.
What to bring: Wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and closed-toed shoes (boots are best!) Bring a hat, work gloves (if you have them), and a filled water bottle. Note: Participants are encouraged to wear face masks during this event. The event will be held outdoors and adhere to our COVID-19 social distancing policy.
Directions:Park along Dulaney Valley Road near Loch Raven Reservoir. Detailed parking instructions will be emailed to volunteers the week of the event.
