Plant trees for cleaner air and water in Baltimore County!
More than 31,000 trees have been planted throughout the Gunpowder Watershed by enthusiastic volunteers over the past 30 years, and we need YOUR help to plant even more! We are looking for student volunteers and adults who care about the Earth, our watershed, and the Chesapeake Bay! Do you like being outside in nature and don’t mind working hard? Join us, and make a difference for future generations.
Perfect for college students, religious affiliation groups, corporate volunteer groups, families, and individuals. A maximum of 15 people, including GVC staff, will be allowed to participate in this event. We are allowing minors (ages 10 – 17) to attend our events as long as there is one parent/legal guardian per two children in attendance.
Date: Saturday, September 26, 2020 (10 am – 1 pm). This event is rain or shine.
Location: To be determined. We are still finalizing the locations for our fall 2020 tree plantings and will contact participants ASAP with driving directions.
Group Registration: All interested volunteer groups must directly contact Peg Perry, Program Director for Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, by email or (443) 415-7969.
What to bring: Remember to wear boots, pants, long sleeve shirt, hat, gloves, and bring rain gear. Each volunteer will need to bring their own labeled water bottle.
**If you get lost the day of the planting, contact Peg at (443) 415-7969**
Funding for this reforestation project was provided by a grant from the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund, administered by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
